Lawrence Taylor's Wife Says He's Not Guilty of Rape

Lawrence Taylor's wife defended her Football Hall of Fame husband to the nation yesterday on CNN's "Larry King Live." Lynette Taylor told the listening public that her husband was absolutely not guilty of raping a teenager last spring.

Taylor was arrested on May 6 in a Rockland County, New York, hotel room and charged with having sex with someone under 17. Police accuse Taylor of paying $300 to have sex with a 16-year-old girl after she was brought to Taylor's hotel room by a pimp. Police say the teenager was a runaway from the Bronx and texted an uncle after returning to New York City the next day. The uncle called police who then arrested Taylor at the hotel.

Taylor pleaded not guilty this week to the rape charges. His wife says that the real story is that the girl snuck into Taylor's hotel room because many people knew the famous game-changing former-linebacker for the New York Giants was in town signing autographs. Lynette Taylor says that her husband gave the girl money because she was down on her luck, but now his actions have been misconstrued.
