Self-Published Author of Pedophilia Guidebook Arrested

A man who self-published a book that markets itself as a guide for pedophiles was arrested on Monday and faces obscenity charges. The 47-year-old man had posted the book for sale on last month, which prompted angry calls for the company to pull it from its website. Amazon eventually pulled the book, "The Pedophiles Guide to Love and Pleasure: A Child-Lover's Code of Conduct," off its virtual shelves two weeks later.

According to Reuters, the man was arrested by Florida law enforcement authorities at his home in Colorado. Florida police detectives said that they had purchased an autographed copy of the book and were issued a warrant by a judge for the author's arrest. There are no allegations at this time that the man has committed sex crimes against children.

According to Reuters, the sheriff's department responsible for the arrest says that the book contains stories of illegal sex acts with children. They say it also trains adults on committing sex crimes against children, and the book defends and advocates for adults who molest children.

Colorado police interviewed the man after he posted his book and the controversy erupted, but they did not believe they had a reason to arrest him. He is not a registered sex offender in Colorado. The man was arrested without incident and is being held on a $15,000 bond in Colorado while he awaits extradition to Florida to face the obscenity charges.
