25-year-old suspect arrested after celebrity's daughter is found

Many of our readers may have heard that recently actress/comedian Rosie O'Donnell went through a bit of personal trauma: her teenage daughter went missing. O'Donnell lives in neighboring New York, and after about a week of her daughter missing she reached out on social media to try to elicit the public's help in locating her daughter. Thankfully, her 17-year-old daughter was found in New Jersey shortly afterward, but now there appears to be more to the story.

According to a recent report, a 25-year-old man is now facing criminal charges that involve the disappearance of O'Donnell's daughter. The suspect is not alleged to have kidnapped her, but he is alleged to have distributed obscenity to the teenage girl, along with endangering her. He is now facing two felony charges in New Jersey.

Although the initial details on this case were few and far between, the reports do indicate that there was apparently some form of communication between O'Donnell's teenage daughter and the 25-year-old suspect. The reports state that after O'Donnell's daughter was located she gave local law enforcement officials permission to search her daughter's phone. There was no indication whether or not the messages that were exchanged included pictures or video that may form the basis for the obscenity charge, but that may indeed be the case.

Almost any New Jersey criminal defense attorney would probably be able to tell our readers that, for the suspect, the time to begin planning a criminal defense strategy is now. This suspect was already in line to face aggressive prosecution efforts, but with a celebrity's daughter involved there will be a heightened amount of media scrutiny in this case.
